Free December Events Hosted by Pasadena Senior Center
During the COVID pandemic, the Pasadena Senior Center, 85 E. Holly St., offers many free online activities via Zoom for adults 50 and older as well as some onsite activities. Registration for Zoom and most onsite events is required by visiting www.pasadenaseniorcenter.org and clicking on Activities & Events or Lectures & Classes. Everyone who registers for Zoom events receives an email link for joining each activity online. Anyone who does not have WiFi or an email address can call 626-795-4331 to receive a phone number to call and listen to live Zoom events. COVID protocols are observed for all onsite events at the center. Pasadena Senior Center membership as well as residency in Pasadena are not required for these Zoom or onsite events. Movie Matinees – Fridays, Dec. 10 and 17 at 1 p.m. onsite at Pasadena Senior Center. Watching a movie can be revitalizing and can help viewers relax and disconnect for a couple of hours. December's movies are ideal for the weeks leading to Christmas. Each Pasadena Senior Center member may bring one nonmember guest. Dec. 10: "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (2000, PG) starring Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen. A green revenge-seeking Grinch who lives on the outskirts of Whoville plans to ruin Christmas for all the citizens of the town. Estate Planning, Trust Administration and Estate Administration – Thursday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m. via Zoom. Attorney Joe Engle, whose specialty is leading people through the estate planning process with ease and knowledge, will discuss estate planning, trust administration and estate administration, plus how to avoid probate and why estate planning is important. Cultural Thursday: Holiday Cheer with the Tap Chicks – Thursday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. onsite at Pasadena Senior Center. The ever popular Pam Kay and the Tap Chicks will present a festive show filled with music, dancing and laughter. There's no better way to get into the holiday spirit! Holly St., is an independent, donor-supported nonprofit organization that has served older adults for more than 60 years.
