Older adults and their caregivers are invited to a free presentation via Zoom about COVID-19 vaccinations for older adults Friday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m. by Huntington Hospital infectious disease specialist Dr. Kimberly Shriner and experts from the Pasadena Public Health Department.
The Pasadena Senior Center and Pasadena Village have partnered to share information about the vaccines and provide this platform for older adults to have their questions answered. Topics will include COVID-19 vaccines that are available and how to secure an appointment in Pasadena and surrounding areas. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation. “The COVID-19 vaccine is a constant topic of conversation among older adults in the Pasadena area,” said Katie Brandon, executive director of Pasadena Village. “This presentation is to not only share current, accurate and helpful information about the vaccines and how to obtain them but also to offer a space where older adults can ask questions and hear directly from the experts.” While the event is free, reservations are required. To register, visit www.pasadenaseniorcenter.org and click on Events, Clubs and Lecturers, then Online Events or call 626-795-4331. Everyone who registers will receive an email link to access the Zoom proceedings live. Anyone who does not have internet access will receive details for accessing the presentation live by telephone. “Since the pandemic started, the Pasadena Senior Center has been a reliable source of information to older adults in our community,” said Akila Gibbs, executive director of the Pasadena Senior Center. “Our website includes a special page with the most current information. We are happy that Dr. Shriner is making herself available to update us on the vaccine.” |
