On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year old unarmed Black man died when a white Minneapolis, MN policeman held him to the ground while handcuffed, with his knee to Floyd’s neck, as Floyd screamed he couldn’t breathe. Four Minneapolis Officers were fired from their positions on the police force; but, as of this writing, only one officer has been arrested and charged with third-degree murder.
The guy who represents the country as its leader is rushing around complaining about his Twitter account and accusing a commentator of murder, as over one hundred thousand Americans have died as a result of COVID-19. The prevailing question for the world: Is being a Black man in America a DEATH SENTENCE? We must all remember that the guy in the White House wants to arrest Colin Kaepernick and other NFL football players protesting police abuse of Black men in America by kneeling before football games. Are we going to arrest a cop for kneeling on Mr. Lloyd’s neck until he died? Philando Castile died when he told the police he had gun in his glove compartment. The law allowed him to have a gun in his possession; while nothing happened to the white supremacists who brought guns into the Michigan State Capital, in a threatening manner. Walter Scott was shot in the back as he tried to run away from a South Carolina police officer. Ron Settles was hung in the Long Beach jail in 1981, they called it suicide, if I remember correctly no one was convicted. Since that time, one after another police officers have gone free, while Black men have died over and over again. To me, this smells like a not guilty finding in spite of the investigation starts and the head FBI officer said the magic words , she said TRUST ME . Even Keith Ellison sounds like them at this point . Eric Garner, Rodney King, Not guilty, Three in a week, Girl in her bed, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tamir Rice. Two cops, one 19 years on force twelve complaints no convictions. One of the other two, an Asian-American, has excessive force complaints by a pregnant woman. When Justine Damond, a white woman, was shot and killed by a police officer in Minneapolis in 2017; the officer, who was Somali-American, was arrested, convicted and sentenced to 12.5 years in prison. The head of the Minneapolis police union was recently photographed wearing a “Cops for Trump T Shirt.” The FBI and local prosecutors announced that they will investigate George Floyd’s death before they arrest anyone. The FBI is under Attorney General William Barr, who likes to let criminals go free. The former Black Congressman from Minnesota, Keith Ellison, is now the Attorney General there, what can Barr do? Andrea Jenkins, Minneapolis City Council Vice President, before she spoke to the public, sang “ Amazing Grace.” She then admitted that she felt like Black lives didn’t matter and there was a knee on all of our necks. A day after the murder, protestors burned the city’s buildings, large and small, including the Police Station where the officers who killed George Floyd were assigned. Everyone is waiting on charges of the other three officers who held Floyd down during the crime. A local speaker has reminded us that The so-called president has called the protestors thugs; while having said, in the past, that he is a Nationalist. Everyone is aware that the president has treated white folks better than black folks under the Attorney General William Barr. He has said that “when the looting starts, the shooting starts” quoting a racist Miami Police Chief in 1967, sheriff from the past The President also called black football players “Sons of Bitches” for taking a knee. We have had a statement by Barack Obama and former vice president and Presidential candidate Joe Biden. Nothing more about an American city on fire Minneapolis Minnesota , than the shooting comment. As a note we note that the Minneapolis Police arrested CNN black reporter, Jose Jimenez. Also it seems that the protestors were mostly white males. Protests have taken place all around the world, London, Germany, Iran, Brazil and the major cities across the world. As of Monday, June 1, 2020, we were at Day five; the guy in the White House declared war on the Americans by saying he was giving the cities the right to defend their businesses with violence, as he tried to set a seven o’clock curfew for the United States, even though he doesn’t have that authority. He did not call for calm; and told governors that if they didn’t quiet the protestors down, he would send in the military to gain and maintain the peace. No one seemed moved and no governors have requested military troops. His speech seemed to pour gasoline onto the protestors’ actions. He just confirmed he’s a bully, full of empty gestures, a so-called “law and order president.” He gave his threatening speech in the Rose Garden on Monday; then, walked with his crew, including Attorney General William Barr, to St. John’s Church across the street from the White House, a place he doesn’t go often. He had the nerve to hold up ‘A’ Bible and walked back across the street…all for a photo-op. |
