To live a youthful life forever is but fleeting fantasy right? Well not according to the bible. Proverbs 14:27 states that " The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death". Sounds like God might have some inside information to share on the subject?
The original Hebrew meaning of the word "life" as it is found in the context this scripture has among its definition words like: fresh, strong, revive, keep alive and recover. By comparison you'll find among the definition for the word "youth" in any standard dictionary the words freshness, vigor and "eroding to a slight extent only". See any correlation?
The fact of the matter is that "...as a man thinks in his heart, so is he." (Proverbs 23:7), this passage of scripture is actually referencing a type of double mindedness which when is the foundation of any endeavor, leads only to sour grapes and or failure.
The key to making sure we are unfailing partakers of the original fountain of youth is to simply develop - if you haven't already - an awe inspired appreciation for God Almighty and how thoughtful He is of you and I that He would provide (from the beginning) a way for you and I to live forever, not to mention, a way to overcome this lesser experienced level of life we're subject to while living here on earth by determining that "we will have all that He has provided for us... "In this life and the next..." (1Timothy 4:8).
Trust me, those who think this way in their hearts, cheat both death and aging, because they're hearts and minds aren't focused on such things for the fact that they are so focused on Him!
