Re: “Are Latinos Sharing or Taking Over?”

I have enjoyed reading the journal (although I must admit not on a monthly basis) many, many times over the years. I am currently an Altadena resident and a former Pasadena resident. I have seen our neighborhoods and the city evolve over the last 40 years. I have a co-worker that made it into this last issue. Nice!

But I must voice that I was very upset and saddened by your cover that reads, "ARE LATINOS SHARING OR TAKING OVER?" What is that supposed to mean? Who is challenging who? Why target the latinos? There are plenty of local Asians. We even have an Armenian community right here in town.

You must live in this area and therefore should know about the racial hate and violent crimes that our cities have endured over the years. This is a free country with equal opportunities. Jobs are not plentiful at this time but I believe the job market is pretty fair. One of the things that make Pasadena/Altadena such a wonderful place to live is it's diversity. There are people of many races that have made this place their home.

Said article has the impression that someone was attempting to insight (sic) people to hate. As they say, "GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY!". I'm just another person with another opinion and needed to state my PEACE of mind. Thank You for your time.
