Pasadena Alliance of African American School Educators Honors PUSD Graduates

African American news from Pasadena - Rite of Passage and Kente scarfPasadena, CA – The Pasadena Alliance of African American School Educators (PAAASE) sponsored the sixth annual Rites of Passage Ceremony for PUSD graduating African American seniors on June 6, 2010 at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Altadena. Graduating African American seniors were honored in a Rites of Passage Ceremony, which to celebrate their journey through PUSD. Families, friends, and community members joined to reflect on the students' school years, rejoice in their completion of this milestone, and welcome the next steps in their adult lives.

Based on the accomplishments of senior applicants, the PAAASE scholarship committee awarded one deserving senior from each high school with a scholarship. At the end of the program each senior was heralded presented with a Kente scarf.African  American news from Pasadena - PAASE
