National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Gamma Lambda Chapter held their annual African American History Bee on February 26, at Eliot Middle School. Students from Pasadena Unified Schools grades 3/4,5/6,7/8 competed in teams of 2 on their knowledge of African American History. The competition which was from 5:30 -7:30 was a very postive and well received activity with approximately 126 participants. The diverse group of over 300 teachers, administrators, parents, family, friends and classmates were in attendance to support the teams. The Sorority gratefully acknowledge the participation of the teachers, parents and students that made this African American History Bee possibe. In addition we gratefully appreciate the collaboration of the Pasadena Unified School District Instructional Service Division, Mr. Peter Parnell, Principal of Eliot Middle School, and Mr. Michael Rimerez, Head Custodian. Special appreciation is given to the judges, readers, community volunteers and our affiliate group the Xinos& Kudos high school service club.

Grades 7/8. 1st place (Sierra Madre Upper) Paige Graves, Carly Paronelli. 2nd Place (McKinley School) Samuel Muthiah, Leandra Parker) 3rd Place (Eliot Middle) Jazmyn Robison, Christina Hollis, Bertha Bohannon Willis.
