Thank you for forwarding P. Bigg's letter. Obviously, I disagree and stand firmly behind what I wrote. Bigg's hypothetical about pandas and koalas is irrelevant because it overlooks the unique history of black people and the racist comparison of us to apes and monkeys throughout history. I made that point in the editorial and need not defend nor elaborate on it further. P. Bigg and I have a very different point of view about Fox News. That conservative bias of that network has been obvious for years and Fox is by no means the only network that presents various points of view. Outstanding network news programs like "20/20," "Face the Nation," "Meet the Press," "This Week," "Good Morning America," "Today," "The News Hour," CNN Headline News, etc. hardly need me or anyone else to defend their objectivity. Admittedly left-wing shows like "Hardball" and "Countdown with Keith Olberman" do a fine job of presenting conservative guests. As for race-bating, I would point to of Fox commentators' habit of emphasizing the "Hussein" part of Barack Obama's name during the campaign, the reference to Barack and Michelle's affectionate pound as a "terrorist fist bump" and Fox's failure to condemn the commentator who "accidentally" called Obama "Osama" then joked that assassination would be a good way to get rid of "both of them" )referring to Osama bin Laden and Barack Obama).
