The Second Annual Collective Wisdom = Community Strength Summit

The Pasadena/Altadena Coalition of Transformative Leaders will hold its Second Annual "Collective Wisdom Equals Community Strength Summit" on Saturday, October 16th, 2010 at the Pasadena Community Education Center, 3035 East Foothill Boulevard, Pasadena, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

According to Yoland Trevino, Event Coordinator, the event will bring together youth, parents, community leaders and social service professionals for a remarkable, multicultural/multilingual gathering for dialog, listening, learning and transformative opportunities that contribute to the "understanding that, regardless of ethnic, cultural or racial backgrounds, we are all one community having many of the same aspirations and goals and a wealth of positive, diverse contributions to make." A number of interesting and challenging discussions, workshop, presentations, exhibits and performances will take place throughout the day, along with food and great fun!

The event is sponsored by Five Acres, Pasadena City Councilmember Jacque Robinson, Harambee Christian Family Center, Pasadena Unified School District, Transformative Collaborations Intl., Day One, Flintridge Center, We Care for Youth/Bliss Unlimited, Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena, Child Care Information Service, MHDC, L.A. County Office of Education Parent Academy, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and the Western Justice Center.

Tickets for the all-day event are $40 for professionals attending and $30 for parents and youth attending together. Parents completing an application for the event can receive a 50 percent scholarship and youth completing the form are eligible to receive a full scholarship. Additionally, by attending, youth can earn community service hours. Youth and young adult visual and performing artists of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds interested in participating in the event are welcomed and encouraged to participate.
