Over 150 adults and students participated in the 3rd Annual Peace Walk organized by El Centro de Accion Social.
The purpose is to bring diverse community members together and to advocate for peace and non violence. Various community organizations supported the efforts and Councilwoman Jacque Robinson, School Board member Scott Phelps, Assemblymember Anthony Portantino, and Teresa Lamb from Congressman Adam Schiff's office participated.
The Neighborhood Outreach Workers (NOW) must be commended for their courage and leadership to walk for PEACE and for supporting the efforts of El Centro de Accion Social, that was founded in 1968.
"This was a historic walk. African Americans, Latinos, White, Middle Eastern, and Asian community members walking together for peace and unity," said Randy Jurado Ertll, executive director of El Centro de Accion Social.
