Pasadena POPS Sets the Night to Music June 7th Free Community Concert

Join the Pasadena POPS, Music Director Rachael Worby, Tony Award-winning vocalist Valarie Pettiford, and the All City Band from Pasadena Unified School District for an unforgettable evening of FREE MUSIC. Parsons Presents, the Eighth Annual Target MUSIC UNDER THE STARS Sunday, June 7, 2009 7:30 pm at Pasadena City Hall

There is no better way to celebrate life than with FREE live music! There is no better time to celebrate FREE live music than in the summer, and no better way to celebrate FREE live music in the summer than with the Pasadena POPS on June 7th, 2009 on the steps of Pasadena City Hall.

You bring the blankets and the chairs and we'll provide the joy, entertainment and fun! Music under the Stars is our gift to you! It is all made possible by our amazing sponsors Parsons and Target, whose commitment to our community are tops!

Pasadena's beloved City Hall Centennial Square will be transformed into an outdoor concert hall where the community is invited to gather with their friends and families. Whether feasting on their own picnics or purchasing dinner from the food court, concertgoers can begin gathering in front of City Hall at 5:30 p.m. for Pre-Concert Festivities. At 7:30 p.m.

The Pasadena POPS will take the stage for a rousing program of selections from the 2009 Descanso Gardens season plus some old time American Favorites.

The Pasadena POPS will open with some recognizable classics sure to get the audience's toes tapping; playing Broadway Classics ranging from Satchmo! A Tribute to Louis Armstrong to the crowd pleasing Guys and Dolls. Then as the stars come out and the moon rises, Broadway songstress Valerie Pettiford will celebrate the night with such classics as Moon River, How High the Moon and more.
