Bernie L. White is a graduate from John Muir High School. She will be attending UCLA in the fall of 2009.She plans to major in Communications and minor in African American Studies. She is a member at Deliverance Tabernacle Church and a native of the Altadena /Pasadena community. As the daughter and granddaughter of Jeanette and Bernie Jean Pounds she is the middle child between Dominique Pounds and Skyler White.
She has been a year round participant in the Upward Bound program for four years, a member of her school newspaper and an intern for The Pasadena Journal for a year and a half. She would like to thank all of her family and friends for their continuous support and guidance.
