Kids, sixth grade and younger, will receive a book bag and a reading record to keep track of the books they read or have read to them during the summer. They will be awarded a prize each week when they visit the library and share what books they've read or listened to that week. In keeping with this year's Summer Reading Club theme for kids, Be Creative @ Your Library, there will be a variety of entertaining shows to spark kids creativity all summer long. In July they'll be dazzled by the magical performance of "Illusions by Allen" and amused by the "Tales and Tunes" series featuring the Brian Waite Band, Brother Yusef and storytellers Jim Cogan, Diane Ferlatte and the Swazzle Puppets. To top it off the Pacific Animal Productions will display creative critters in August!

Drawings for prizes with teen appeal are held each week.
Special programs for teens will be offered throughout the summer. These include the very popular Try It @ Your Library Teen Camps, which will be held in July and August. The camps cover a variety of topics including culinary arts, photography, arts and crafts, design, drawing, comic book illustration, Magna drawing, dance, film, magic, puppetry, and robotics.
