Young Artist’s Concert

The Pasadena Summer Youth Chamber Orchestra is performing their Young Artist's Concert on June 28, at 7:30 pm at the First Church of The Nazarene, 3700 E. Sierra Madre Blvd.

Pasadena. PSYCO was founded in 1983 to give local young musicians an outstanding opportunity to improve their skills and learn new repertoire during the summer months. There will be five soloists on the concert. Pianist, Jingfu Peng, 12 years old, will perform a movement of the Grieg Piano Concerto in A minor. Jungfu is a pupil of Roza Yoder.

Pianist Mason Yu, 18 years old, will play the Mendelssohn Piano Concerto in g minor. Mason is a student of Louise Earhart.

Violinist Kyle Gilner, 16 and Violist Ben Penzner, 13 will play the first movement of the Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola by Mozart. Kyle is a student of Guido Lamell and Ben is student of Sharon Ray.
Cellist, Lydia Bundy, 18, will perform the first movement of the Cello Concerto by Lalo. Lydia is a student of Stan Sharp.

Dr. Allen Gross, who helped found the orchestra, will conduct this concert. It is a free concert.
On July 28, at 6 PM, PSYCO will perform their annual park concert in Memorial Park, in Levitt Pavilion, at Walnut and Raymond Ave. This concert features the String players of PSYCO.

Bethany Ann Pflueger and Chad Prado will be the conductors.

This is also a free concert.
