Ideal Youth's Fourth Annual City of Pasadena Night . . .

. . .  Fundraiser to Benefit Youth Summer Interns

Latino Fiesta Night

Los Angeles, CA - Each year the Ideal Youth summer intern program invites the City of Pasadena to STAPLES Center for an evening complete with competitive WNBA basketball, exciting performances by Pasadena youth organizations and star studded entertainment. On Saturday, August 25, 2012 over 1,000 Pasadena area residents will attend their 4th Annual City of Pasadena Night themed "Latino Fiesta Night" to celebrate Latino heritage.

To kick off this year's fundraiser trumpeter, singer, songwriter and record producer David Longoria will have fans on their feet while performing during Prime-time with The Dance Family Studio. The National Anthem will be performed by Barbara Allen. After the Sparks take on the New York Liberty in a WNBA showdown beginning at 7:00p.m., fans will be treated to exciting post game performances by Grammy Award winner Jon Secada, Billboard chart toppers Baby Bash and D'Manti and the creator and host of "Hot Tamales Live" Kiki Melendez. The 2010 winner of NBC's Last Comic Standing Felipe Esparza will host the entire evening.

In addition, a VIP Reception sponsored by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses will begin at 6:15 p.m. in the Lexus Club. At this time special recognition will be given to the Mejia family, the eldest living Latino family of Pasadena and additional Latino community leaders. This year honorary coaches restaurateurs Robin Salzer of Robins Woodfire BBQ and Able Ramirez of El Portal.

"Latino heritage is a significant part of the fabric and culture of the city of Pasadena. It is an honor and a privilege to recognize their rich contributions through dance and music on a grand stage. This is our way of showing they are appreciated," said Ishmael Trone founder of Ideal Youth.

Ideal Youth will spotlight and congratulate on center court, Pasadena students who have successfully completed their 2012 summer internship.

"Ideal Youth is excited to celebrate another successful year of providing students hands-on career internship opportunities and competitive workforce skills training. Since our inception, we've placed over two hundred fifty youth in internships of their dream career. It's exciting and refreshing to see students from all ethnicities and economic stature apply and excel for a chance of achieving their dreams. Many of our students have been offered permanent part time jobs, career opportunities, scholarships and acceptance to some of the most prestigious universities in the nation. Pasadena night is an exciting time for Ideal Youth. It's not only our annual fundraiser, but our chance to proudly highlight the amazing future leaders that we have in our youth." Said Kardia Pinckney, president of Ideal Youth.

The Sparks 2012 "City of Pasadena Night" is presented in partnership with the City of Pasadena, Pasadena Tournament of Roses, F&M Business Center, and Unyque Financial.
