Inter-Valley Employees Donate 204 Hours . . .

. . . In Fourth Annual Helping Hands Weeks

Black news from Pasadena - Inter Valley Health Plan Helping Hands WeekPomona CA (August 1, 2012) – Inter Valley Health Plan is proud to announce the results of its fourth annual Helping Hands Week, where 52 employees donated 204 hours of community service to local non-profits around the region during the week of July 20th, 2012. The week-long initiative benefitted local non-profits including Inland Valley Hope Partners, Inland Valley Care and Rehab Center, Inland Valley Humane Society, Inland Christian Home and Atria Senior Living Center. The organization's employees also crafted hats, scarves, blankets and other helpful items for various charities around the region that support children and seniors in need. The organization also conducted a week-long new shoe drive for Shoes that Fit and collected shoes students in need across the U.S.

Helping Hands Week started out as a fun way to give back to the community to recognize Inter Valley Health Plans 30th anniversary in 2009. The results externally and internally were so powerful that the organization extended Helping Hands Week into an annual program where employees are recognized for their volunteer efforts. Since its inception, the program has donated more than 700 hours to several Inland Empire communities and organizations.
