Pasadena NAACP President Joe Brown was recently elected by delegates from California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Washington to serve as its Regional Chairman. Mr. Brown who has currently served six years as Pasadena's President informs The Journal that he appreciates "the confidence the delegates and various State Presidents placed in him by allowing him to serve over the next year." He looks forward to the task before him through the next National Convention and will continue as the local President. According to a source, Bobby Carter, "Joe has a great deal of energy, know how and skills. He agreed to accept the position after his assurance that it would not hinder or take away from his appointment as a Los Angeles County Commissioner assignment by 5th District Supervisor Michael Antonovich, his local community commitment or his time away from his church duties". While in New York, He was sworn in by a Judge of Utah to commence his term of service.
