Local Community Workers for Obama Opens Tuesday Night Phone Bank

African American news from Pasadena - News - Phone Bank news on the efforts to re-elect President ObamaWe had an awesome Phone Bank last night! Andrew Oliver organized the men from the community! The first Phone Bank was held at Katey's Salon, in Pasadena, on Tuesday, August 28. It was great to see so many men out working hard to get our President re-elected. The Men for Obama worked for hours calling the battleground states. Andrew says he also encourages more men to join him on Tuesday, September 11, to help make a difference in our country.

The Southern California Women for Obama, Organized by Jana West, Regional Director, So. Calif. W4O: We called Co. conducted persuasive calls. We encourage other women to join us every Tuesday, at 6 p.m. to reach women in other states.

The Southern California Women for Obama travels to battleground State of Nevada:  On January 2012, a group of women loaded a bus and headed to Nevada to work that battleground state. Judy Matthews, Chair of NCBW arranged for her group in Nevada to host a welcome reception when we arrived. We made over 2,700 calls on Saturday afternoon. We also participated in the Nevada Caucus and spent time with U. S. Senator Harry Reid, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis and local state elected officials. It was a wonderful experience.

African American news from Pasadena - News - Phone Bank news on the efforts to re-elect President ObamaAgain in July, I arranged a group of Women for Obama (W4O) to travel to Nevada. We loaded up in three large vans and canvassed the community. It was unbelievably HOT, yet we stayed focused on our task and walked the neighborhood, talking to voters. We met veterans who were extremely supportive, and other veterans who were disheartened; the conversations were sometimes difficult, yet insightful and helpful to understanding how we can move forward in our work for the President.

We welcome those interested in the phone bank to join us on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 6 p.m., at Katey's Salon, 1711 E. Washington Blvd., Pasadena, CA.
