Today, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) released the following statement following news that U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice has taken her name out of consideration for Secretary of State:
"While I certainly understand her decision, it is deeply regrettable that U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice has taken her name out of consideration for Secretary of State. She is superbly well qualified, and as a dedicated and respected public servant she did not deserve the treatment she has received over the last several weeks. More than that, the President and country will be denied the opportunity to have one of the nation's most capable ambassadors serve as Secretary of State.
"I wish Ambassador Rice continuing success in her important work at the United Nations and thank her for her extraordinary professionalism."
