How to Have a Fun Spring Break While Staying On Top of Your "Game"

What are your plans for spring break? Some may choose to travel out of the country or to other states, while others spend time on local beaches, go on family vacations, or continue to work during their free time.

Whatever you decide to do, it's important to remember that you have academic responsibilities. For high school seniors with a serious and contagious case of "senior-itis" and college students who have so much freedom they don't know what to do, it can be easy to slack off during Spring Break and especially when you return to school. So here are a few things to keep in mind before and while on Spring break:

  • Construct an organized to-do list. This includes, but is not limited to, school work, bills, laundry, and any job-related tasks you must complete.
  • If possible, pay bills and complete as much work as possible before you leave.
  • Organize your school work and other tasks you must complete from "MOST IMPORTANT", that will require immediate attention, to "CAN WAIT", for work that can wait until you return.

WARNING: Many students have considerate teachers who will not assign any work during the break. But others who are assigned work may be tempted to mark all of your work as "CAN WAIT", but DO NOT under-estimate your work load!!!

  • While on break, reserve some time for these important tasks. But most importantly, Enjoy your relaxing time off!
