A twelve-year-old boy won a beautiful trophy for swimming. Looking fondly at him, his mother said enviously, "I have never won a trophy for anything." Quickly he questioned her, "Did you ever try?" "No," she admitted. "Well," he continued, "that's why you never won!"
If we want to succeed, we must start. If we want to win, we must work. If we want a trophy, we must try. And if we want the prize, we must persevere.
There are those who never accomplish anything because they never begin. They feed on fear instead of feasting on faith.
Others never cross the finish line because they give in to their hurts and handicaps.
Still others focus on their obstacles and not their opportunities.
Paul encouraged us to believe that "we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us." Not some things. Or a few things. Even certain things. But ALL things!
