Last summer we were looking for a fun way to honor and remember Pasadena native Julia Child for her contributions to culinary and television history. Since Julia Child was known to enjoy a good cocktail, we decided to throw the citywide cocktail party on her birthday, August 15th, at venues throughout the city. At the same time, we wanted to highlight all that Pasadena's restaurants and lounges have to offer for visitors, residents and those who work here. The SIP-tember Cocktail Bracket Challenge and Celebration of the Cocktail was a fun and novel way to lead into our Taste of Pasadena event.
In addition to the cocktail tastings, twenty Pasadena restaurants and caterers will showcase their menu and drink offerings to attendees at the Taste of Pasadena. Admission to the Taste of Pasadena is $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Those attendees each receive tickets to taste the competition cocktails and get to sample the food and drink from among Pasadena's finest restaurants and caterers who will be showcasing their culinary expertise at the event. You can sign up and pay for Taste of Pasadena admission by going to: http://www.pasadena-chamber.org/events/sip-tember.
Voting in the cocktail bracket challenge goes live on Wednesday, August 15th.
