"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed my live." (Deuteronomy 30:19)
She was bowed down; crying out to the Lord!
"Save my daddy's Life!" she implored!
Still and silent on his hospital bed.
With all the tubes to keep him breathing...otherwise he would be dead!
Even as she kneeled at his feet, she saw something, in the Spirit, which made her weep!
Flashing through her mind, were all the years of her dad's gluttonous sin!
She said, "God, I don't want to see that now, his life I'm trying to win!"
Nevertheless, God kept pouring out those scenarios time and time again.
Finally, she sat back, and began to let the Spirit speak.
It had been 15 years of diabetes, and in and out of the hospital for these last three-never heeding the physician's call to watch what you eat!
Started with high blood pressure, and then came his enlarged heart.
Being obese didn't help him! He'd fall asleep while he was talking (narcolepsy), at any part!
We all tried to counsel him. Yeah, a lot of issues were going on in his life; but we said, "Dad, you can overcome! Stand up, stay on the diabetic diet, and fight!"
It was quiet a plight! He'd eat donuts, instead of salads. And cakes and cookies late at night!
He responded, "Oh girl, my life has been good; let me enjoy what I like to eat.
His smile was so glowing, and his personality so joyous-she had to be sweet.
He voiced those sentiments at the age of 58.
Three months later, he celebrated his birthday in this coma state.
Yes! He died after six weeks.
It hurt so badly, but God has given her peace.
Every now and then, she thinks of what could have been if the battle over food was a 'win!'
He lost, had a stroke and it ended up killing him.
The above account is typical of many that I have seen.I stand with grieving relatives on the scene.
God says: Obey my commands-and choose life!
It can be DONE! By the power of the Holy Spirit, we can put discipline on our mouth, in spite!
Now, God is sovereign, and many prayers have been miraculously answered, and I've seen much recovering.
But the majority of those who break down their bodies-keep our death rates soaring!
Continue to work with your family members on appetite control; while giving God the Glory!
"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." (3 John 2)
