Irwindale, CA - The San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership is pleased to announce that it has hired Jennifer McLain as its new business assistance manager. This new position will focus on helping businesses in the San Gabriel Valley with a wide range of services including finding new financing, navigating the government permitting process, and attracting skilled employees.
"This new position will allow the Partnership to expand the region's business assistance programs," said Cynthia Kurtz, President and CEO of the Partnership. "Jennifer McLain brings years of economic development experience working one-on-one with businesses to help them grow and expand. She knows the Valley and she will be working each day to help businesses succeed."
Jennifer McLain joins the Partnership after working as a management assistant at the City of Monrovia where she was the liaison for economic development, legislative and media affairs. She lead key development initiatives, including implementing the Business Attraction, Retention and Growth Plan and the Business Visit Program, where more than 200 business were visited and assisted in a single year. Prior to that, Ms. McLain was a project analyst for A.C. Lazzaretto & Associates, a municipal consulting firm and worked as a reporter for the San Gabriel Valley Tribune covering political affairs in Rosemead, Irwindale, Monterey Park, West Covina, Covina, and South El Monte.
Business assistance is a central component of the Partnership's mission. Bob Machuca, Senior Regional Manager of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), has worked out of the Partnership offices for many years to provide personal business assistance throughout the San Gabriel Valley. This additional staff position will allow the Partnership to expand these assistance services while gaining critical information to improve its ongoing economic, policy, and marketing programs.
