The "Hey Auri!" column is dedicated to answering your questions and providing helpful advice.
I attend Pasadena City College and am in my 4th week as of September 16, 2013. I find that my homework load is starting to pile on and pile up. I am starting to become very overwhelmed trying to juggle school life, home life, and a social life. I feel like an ostrich that needs to bury my head in the sand and not come out until the semester is over. What is some sound advice you can give me to help with my new clown act of juggling?
Sincerely, I don't want to be a clown
Hey, "I don't want to be a clown",
I don't want to be a clown either, but sometimes that is exactly what we have to be in order to survive the perils of what is now college life. What I have found to make things easier is to invest in a Starbucks rewards card, and get a good planner. Planners are really inexpensive and they help you organize your week/months in advance. It is sometimes good to see visually what you have to do for the week so you can plan your home life and social life accordingly. Do not over extend yourself! If you look in your planner and notice that your friend is having a party on the same day that you have a paper due, prioritize! If you have to miss your friends party, make up for it by getting them a gift, but keep your priorities in check!
