Teens start smoking for a variety of reasons. Most teens believe its cool to smoke just because their friends do. Some teens smoke because their family members do or because of depression and stress. Although, what some teens fail to realize its that smoking is the largest cause of death in the world and can lead to many diseases, such as cancer and become addictive.
I asked a couple of my friends their opinion on teen smoking and how it affects the environment and here's what they came up with: "Smoking leads to lots of ugly things like death. It can cause you to have a heart attack earlier than you imagine. Smoking can also affect other people around you and cause their lungs to grow uglier" ~ Reyna
"The effect of teen smoking causes chaos in the world and also cause people to get sick when people to when their lungs get weak and can't take the smoke. Also, secondhand smoke is not good for anyone to experience." ~ Lidia
My advice for teens that are effected by tobacco is to get help from a professional, doctor, family member or friend who can give them some advice about the risk of smoking and encourage them to quit. I would also advise other teens to say no to Tobacco and stay focused in school and not let others become a bad influence in their life.
