October Topic: Indecisiveness
Since fall is in full swing, you may be starting to see the leaves change color and the wind gusts getting stronger, and the sun going down earlier. This is all the earthly processes of the world. Seasons change, and the shifts start to move instantaneously. I wanted to speak to you today about how to shift your mindset into making good decisions. Let's face it, sometimes it's hard to make good choices, and it is so easy to slip into indecisiveness. From something as simple as deciding which shoes to rock the halls at school to determining if you should give into peer pressure or not. (Which a P.R.E.T.T.Y. Pioneer should never do.) Below are some tips to help you become a better connoisseur of the term Decision-Making.
Tip 1: Weigh your Options: Just evaluate your choices.
Tip 2: Determine the Consequences: Sounds ominous doesn't it? It isn't. Making a pros and cons chart to list possible outcomes either negative or positive, can really help you see if that outcome is worth it or not.
Tip 3: YO-YO Theory: Once you look at the possible outcomes, picture yourself as a Yo-Yo. If you make that one decision is it something that will propel you forward or pull you back?
Tip 4: Get a Second Opinion: Always ask a friend, or parent to see what they would do.
(One of the biggies . . . fashion crisis. I never hesitate to seek consultation)
Tip 5: You Decide: That just about sums it up. It is your decision to make, so make it. Once you commit to something don't be double-minded.
Jam 4 the Month:
You Lead by Jamie Grace
This song by a great Christian Contemporary Artist Jamie Grace, is all about letting God take the lead in your life when indecisiveness has you frozen.
By Building Confidence in Others, You Build Confidence in Yourself.
