Have you noticed that the pomegranates in the super markets are huge this season. Much to the delight of my wife who loves them and can't wait for this time of the year to roll around so that she can consume as many of them as she can before they go out of season again.
This year's bumper crop remind me of the enormous bounty of fruit the spies (Moses and Aaron sent out to the land of milk and honey) brought back as evidence to the people of the true richness of God's promise to them; but alas the majority of the spies gave that fearful report which turned the peoples focus from The Lord's gifting to the perceived insurmountable opposition of the folks inhabiting the land. See Numbers chapter 13.
Along the same lines, I am reminded of how well served Daniel and his friends were to limit their diets to mere vegetables and water as they approached and fulfilled the requirement for training to be servants to the king of that day - Nebuchadnezzar. He and his three friend's ability to witness about, and offer obedience to their God were the very thing God used to turn the heart, mind and conviction of a formally unbelieving king. See Daniel Chapters 1 and 3.
Now for those cynics out there who might be thinking "Oh here we go again - another brow beating about our inability to conform to a vegetarian lifestyle" - I ask you to relax, for I am fully conscious of the law of liberty (Romans 14:1-12) and am only pointing to the overly confirmed benefits of a diet high in fruits and vegetables. As you have witnessed here, they're big on God's list, why not join the king and the boys, and make them big on yours?
If you're not active exercise wise, remember to start slow and build from where you are; and see a Dr. first if you have any level of a health challenge.
Well that's my time for this time; if this subject interests you, please join me next time when I'll share more regarding the awesome benefits of getting and being fit God's way!
