Dr. Strangelove 50th Anniversary Screening

African American news from Pasadena - Community News - Dr. Strangelove 50th anniversary screeningPasadena, CA — Pasadena Public Library's Allendale Branch's will host a viewing of Stanley Kubrick's wildly absurd "doomsday" comedy, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, on Saturday, January 11 at 2 p.m. at Allendale Branch Library, 1130 S. Marengo Avenue.

The film will launch Allendale's new series, "Critical Mass: The Culture of the Cold War," an examination of the impact of the Cold War on American culture. Also to be screened is First Time Here (1964), a short film by Richard Myers which incorporates dream imagery into an essay on atomic warfare.
