In spite of what you are going through, God is still good. May I comfort your heart by saying to you that whatever you went through in 2013, you did not go through it alone—God was right there running along beside you—but you may have been too busy fussing, mumbling, and having your pity party that you could not see Him running along beside you reaching for your hand which you did not extend toward Him. I get tickled sometimes when I think of what a gentleman God is. He is not pushy; He is not all loud like some folks. People are so used to noise, loudness, fast-talking and over-talking people until they just cannot hear the soft gentle voice of God. God's voice is so sweet and gentle and since He does not come with the routine BLING BLING: therefore, we don't see Him—we miss out on God so many times.
I am saying all of that to say this: Let's drown out some of the noise, fine tune your heart and ears and listen up for what God is saying to you in 2014. And one more thing, stop always begging God and start thanking Him for what He has done and what He is going to do. Show appreciation and thankfulness for the little thing sand just maybe you may get more without even asking. A thankful heart touches the hearts of others.
Leave all the hurt, pain and disappointment baggage that you collected last year behind, don't be a hoarder. LET GO AND LET GOD! And one more thing, stop staying up all night worrying. If you pray, don't worry. Have faith in the fact that God is capable of doing above what you can think to ask Him to do. I see it like this, since God is a 24/7 watchman, I am going to get me at least 8 hours of sleep no matter what is going on. I am not that smart, but I have gained a little wisdom over the years and I want to share with you—you will be okay—God got your back and your children's back too, so chill because God is real.
