City Attorney Feuer to Double Number of Neighborhood Prosecutors

Los Angeles, CA – City Attorney Mike Feuer has announced that he will double the size of his office's Neighborhood Prosecutor Program in the next several weeks.

"Neighborhood Prosecutors are central to improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods," said City Attorney Mike Feuer. "Solving seemingly intractable problems in a community can make the difference as to whether a park is safe or a business district thrives."

The City Attorney's Neighborhood Prosecutor Program is designed to prioritize and address quality of life crimes including drug and gang activity, gun violence, street prostitution, illegal dumping, trespassing, zoning and code violations, vandalism, trash and graffiti.

The prosecutors will be deeply embedded in the community, working closely with schools, neighborhood councils, homeowner and residents associations, chambers of commerce and other civic organizations.

Those interested in applying to be a Neighborhood Prosecutor can visit the City Attorney's website at: http://atty.lacity.org/CAREERS/index.htm.
