A festive meal is synonymous with holiday celebrations, but many local seniors may not have the opportunity to prepare a meal as they have in years past, but the Pasadena Senior Center will make it a little easier for seniors to enjoy the holidays by providing food baskets for the Christmas holiday.
Christmas Food Baskets, provided courtesy of the Salvation Army, will be distributed by the Pasadena Senior Center in December. The baskets will be available to Pasadena residents, age 50 and older, who meet certain eligibility guidelines. Applications for Christmas Food Baskets will be taken at the Center, located at 85 East Holly Street in Old Pasadena, from noon to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, now through December 1. Homebound seniors may apply for baskets by phone. The Pasadena Senior Center is open on Thanksgiving and Christmas days to welcome seniors, their families and friends, and serve a delicious holiday dinner at a nominal cost.
The complete dinner menus feature roasted turkey with all the trimmings. The celebrations include an afternoon of seasonal holiday entertainment.
For close to 50 years the Pasadena Senior Center, has served the community as an independent non-profit center supported through membership fees, private and business support and public sector funding for its outreach programs. Through the generosity of donors the Center continues to serve offering a wide and diverse range of services, benefits and opportunities to members and the public.
