On Sunday March 30, 2014, the Pasadena-Altadena Links Inc. Chapter will present their annual art exhibition, "Embracing The Arts" at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, 100 North Hill, Pasadena, 91106 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This highly anticipated community art showcase will highlight the creative talents of a diverse group of performance and visual artists, authors and poets. The afternoon will feature various works ranging from paintings to sculptures, to poetry and batik.
Kathy Huante, a renowned glass artist, Links Alumna member, and arts educator, will be honored as a Trailblazer in Art for her immense contribution to the Pasadena-Altadena Links Incorporated and community. She and her husband, Ramon, were founding members of "The Friends of Cleveland School" volunteer community group, which are seven area families formed to adopt Cleveland Elementary School in Pasadena. She is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University's masters program and has completed independent art coursework at both UCLA and USC. For the past 25 years, Kathy has enjoyed working with infused glass and recently has begun working with inlaying glass in clay.
The Pasadena-Altadena Links will also honor Coleman Bryant, a 2013 Pasadena-Altadena Links Scholarship recipient. Coleman is a student at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music and performs with the Conservatory's Jazz Band.
The community is invited to attend, mix and mingle with fellow art enthusiasts, and revel in the various displays of beautiful art mediums. Admission and parking is free to the public.
