Deliberate Intervention

African American news from Pasadena - Ask Pastor Glovioell"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." (Luke 10:19)

Very few things come with pure ease!

Even pushing a child through the birth canal isn't a breeze!

But the aftermath of that miracle, makes us and God pleased!

"A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world." (John 16:31) Other things are attained with contention!

Strive for what you want!  Do it with intention!

Some cringe, and retreat from their goals at the slightest resistance.

But, you'll never reach the prize without great persistence!

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.

"I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:13-14)

Go out and find someone who has achieved.

Listen, in depth, to their story and you will see, and be relieved.

Most persons fail in something initially, but keep pressing toward the mark because, in Christ, they believed!

I failed to mention that you have access to Divine Intervention!

We're not expected to have all the answers; but we're told to go to God for wisdom rather than panic.

In prayer or through the studied or preached Word, I am taught the way to go; because, without Christ, I don't know.

I am not ashamed to say I need help!

I've learned to trust him, when things seemed much worse!

"In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears." (2 Samuel 22:7)

Dear Pastor Glovioell,
I just about gave up!

Everything I tried seemed to explode in my face.  My girlfriend got pregnant and lost the baby in a miscarriage.  I took the GRE and failed it.  This year was my best attempt to get a promotion on my job.  I came in last.

All this stuff brought me so much frustration!  I remembered my granddaddy's words.  "Young man, we weren't brought into this world to make our own way!!  You got to get in God's face. You  got to see what Jesus has to say to you always!"

I cried out to the Lord!  He answered.  I stopped living with my girlfriend.  I got out the sin I was in-Me!  In church and Bible Study?  I had to do it.  Now things have changed.  It really is better to obey God.  I said 'Thank you Granddaddy.'  I found his God for myself.

Almost Fed Up

Dear Almost Fed Up,
Who is like the Lord?  Nobody!

Relieve your stress and keep going to God and Christian counselors, for the best.

Stay in a spirit of prayer, obey God's voice and be at rest!

"And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee." (2 Chronicles 14:11)
