The National Congress of Black Women, Inc., Los Angeles Chapter (NCBW-LAC), under the leadership of E. Faye Williams, Esq., of Washington, D.C., will host its 2014 Annual Awards and Scholarship Luncheon "Honoring Those Making A Differences" on Saturday, August 16, 2014, 12:00 PM at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles, located at 506 South Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90067. A reception will be held at 11:00 a.m. and luncheon at 12 noon.
The Annual Awards luncheon aims to recognize those individuals, institutions, and companies in the region that have dedicated their efforts to improving the quality of life and championing causes that positively impact diverse communities. Astronaut, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are being recognized for their commitment to serving our communities. In addition to our distinguish honorees, thirteen (13) deserving individuals from the community will be awarded scholarships. The event is the primary funding source for sustaining program initiatives. This event draws a guest list of our most esteemed community leaders and business associates while raising awareness in support of NCBW-LAC community service programs.
The National Congress of Black Women, Inc. Los Angeles Chapter (NCBW) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit non-partisan organization dedicated to the educational, political, economic and cultural development of African American Women and their families. NCBW is comprised of individuals in local and national chapters across the nation.
The NCBW-LAC has made significant strides since its inception and was recognized as a 2012 "Charity of Choice" and presented with the "Dinner Committee of Inspiration Award" by the Millennium Momentum Foundation, Inc. for its direct involvement and leadership in the community service programs.
The proceeds from the Annual Awards Luncheon provides sustainability for the ongoing program initiatives and services rendered for youth projects and the community at-large.
