Students & Families Get Help in Applying for Scholarships & Grants
To prepare students for college and career success, John Muir High School’s Parent, Teacher and Student Association (PTSA) will host a Cash for College workshop on Saturday, January 23 to help 12th graders and their families complete financial aid applications, and to learn about scholarships and grants. On Saturday, volunteers will explain the financial aid process, answer questions and have computers available for families to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) that day. The FAFSA is used by federal, state and private institutions to determine the amount of scholarships, grants and other funding that students can receive to pay for college.
Spanish-speaking volunteers will be available. Twelfth graders who attend the workshop and submit all forms by March 2 will be eligible to win a $1,000 scholarship.
