Saturday, February 27, 2010 from Noon to 4pm @ The Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa, Pasadena
PASADENA, CA -- The Pasadena Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. (PNHS) will hold "A Time of Renewal" Spring Tea Party on Saturday, February 27, 2010 from noon to 4 p.m. The program includes an award ceremony honoring local heroes and guest speaker Rebecca King Crews, co-star of BET's new realty show, "The Family Crews" and the wife of Terry Crews from "Everybody Hates Chris".
This fundraising event will be held at the historic Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena and includes a fine assortment of distinctive teas and delectable finger foods.
Awards will be presented honoring local trailblazers including Ruth Hopkins, Managing Editor of the Pasadena / San Gabriel Valley Journal for more than twenty years of community service.
PNHS is a non-profit, community-based corporation whose mission is to revitalize and strengthen neighborhoods by preserving and expanding affordable housing for low and moderate income households through resident involvement, public, private and non-profit partnerships.
The level of funding has diminished and created a challenge for PNHS to provide the level of assistance that they were able to do with more resources. "After serving Pasadena and surrounding communities for over thirty years, we can not just give up on our mission; rather we have to find creative new ways to raise funding that will allow us to continue providing services that are needed now more than ever before," said Carol Ward, PNHS President.
"Foreclosure prevention is one of the services that homeowners turn to PNHS for seeking assistance for more than any other service offered, and we do not want to turn away anyone who needs our assistance to help save their home from foreclosure," she continued.
Tickets to the tea can be purchased in advance for $75 each online at www.pasadenanhs.org or in person at the PNHS office (1190 N. Fair Oaks Avenue, Suite 102, Pasadena, CA 91103). Tickets will not be available at the door.
