Write to Make it Right - Help Influence the Choice for the New Pasadena Police Chief

African American news from Pasadena - Chief of PoliceThe City of Pasadena received 66 applications to fill the important Chief of Police position and held numerous community forums. It is important that you WRITE to express to the City manager with a copy to Mayor Bill Bogaard about the type of person, abilities and skills you believe is appropriate and necessary so that the City (City Manager) hires the right person as our next Police Chief. The safety of all of us in Pasadena is on the line.

Historically, we have an oral tradition. However, in this case your written word and testimony carries much more weight--like gold. You can either email or snail mail. Either way, step up and be counted as taking the time to write and share your thoughts with the City Manager to help him get it right. He is the ultimate decision maker.

The Journal will provide timely updates regarding the police chief screening process and feel free to call the City or request in your correspondence such updates. It would be helpful to send a copy of your correspondence to the Journal so that we can track your efforts from a numbers perspective. Individual names will not be printed unless you inform us of your wishes.

If you do not participate--you cannot complain about the outcome!
