Albert:
As a black father, I prayed to GOD to guide Trejon into the areas he was most passionate about. I recognized his talents and interests at an early age and committed myself to support and nurture him in all of his endeavors. I soon realized that Trejon had many interests and was at his happiest, when he excelled in his 3 A’s: Academics, Arts and Athletics. As he developed into a young man, I continued to encourage his talents and never missed an activity he was involved in. This included performances at school and all games from preschool through high school. One of the most memorable moments as a father was to see him graduate as The Class of 2017 Salutatorian at Loyola High School. Currently, Trejon, a Posse Foundation Scholar, is a rising senior at Tulane University and is on a path that makes me very proud as a Dad. Nowadays, we enjoy debating academic topics, listening to music, watching movies and sports, and reflecting on fond memories. Trejon: I am truly blessed to have such an inspiring and amazing role model as my father. We share a great appreciation for music, movies and sports. People have always admired our closeness and natural talent for interpersonal skills. My Dad has always supported me throughout all of my endeavors growing up and has taught me many important life values. Some notable things he has taught me are to always put my Mom first, never compromise my integrity and to be a man of action and not just words. Albert R.
