David Levine, training coach for City of Angels Half Marathon, along with other volunteers, have been conducting a walking and running training program for the 12th Annual LA County Run for Health, at Griffith Park since August 7, 2010 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and will continue every Saturday up to the run/walk event day on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Dockweiler Beach in Playa del Rey.

There will be t-shirts, refreshments, door prizes, and more for all participants. Dockweiler Beach parking will be available for $1.00.

First District Supervisor Gloria Molina, of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is this year's Honorary Race Chair. The County Board of Supervisors and the Commission for Women encourages people to participate and promote the County's 2010 "Wellness Initiative". Come and enjoy the wonderful scenic views Dockweiler Beach and staying fit as your participation will assist the Commission for Women in providing educational scholarship to Girls At-Risk.

The race course is sanctioned and certified by the USTA Track & Field. It is also a warm up race for the 2011 Half Marathon, 2011 Los Angeles Marathon and Manhattan Beach 10K Run.
