The city of Pasadena invites local businesses to consider the city as a potential customer.
Businesses are encouraged to meet the city's purchasing agents at an open house Tuesday, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. to noon, at Pasadena City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Avenue, in Basement Room S018 and are also encouraged to attend workshops on Oct. 19 and 26.
The open house is an outreach effort designed to match businesses to city needs based on previous city departmental purchases. The event will include scheduled meetings between Pasadena businesses and purchasing agents from city departments. The city will provide advice on its purchasing needs and requirements for contractual work while getting to know the personnel, products and services of local businesses. Referrals for technical assistance will also be provided.
On Tuesday, Oct. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m., workshops will be conducted on the processes required to provide services and products to the city, including online bid notification registration and state small business certification.
On Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m., technical assistance workshops related to finance, insurance, business development support services and youth entrepreneurship will help educate vendors about doing business with city departments, the Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena Unified School District, County of Los Angeles and State of California. The workshops will be held at East West Bank, 135 N. Los Robles Avenue.
