On December 16th, Pasadena Chief of Police Phillip Sanchez will be welcomed to the Armenian Community at the PAPAC Holiday event hosted at the Pasadena Armenian Center, 740 E. Washington Blvd at 6:00 p.m.
The event includes dinner and live music for a donation of $30.
PAPAC was founded in 1996 by a group of civic minded business and community leaders who wanted to assist in building communications and partnerships with the Armenian community and the Police Department. "The original emphasis was to improve communications, particularly with first generation immigrants, about how their police department functions," says Chief Sanchez. "Many people had come from police states and we wanted to assure them that we are here to serve and protect them. Since that time, PAPAC has developed into a full philanthropic, non profit organization providing educational services, support of police programs, and donations to the community. Part of the richness of Pasadena is the diversity of its communities and the community's willingness to get involved to create vital partnerships that improve the quality of life for its residents."
