Feb.17.2011 06.00PM - 08.00PM

Pasadena City College will play host to the "Step-Up Your Game" conference on Feburary 17 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Presented by The Village Nation in coordination with the Gates Millennium Scholars Program GMS), the event aims to inform minority males on how they can attend college for free.

"Step-Up Your Game" is open to all African-American, American-Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander-American, and Hispanic-American males in junior high and high school with a GPA above 2.8, as well as those who have earned a GED. Parents and guardians are highly encouraged to attend.

GMS was established in 1999 by a $1.6 billion grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to the United Negro College Fund, the nation's largest and most effective minority education organization. The goal of GMS is to educate "Leaders for America's Future" ™ by providing eligible students with the opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in the discipline of their choice and continue through to a doctoral degree in seven GMS-funded fields.
