Race in Los Angeles: the Forties
Mar.22.2011 01.00PM - 02.30PM

A panel of neighborhood eye witnesses of this decade will discuss:

  • the LA Zootsuit Riots,
  • segregated barrios,
  • the incarceration of Japanese Americans,
  • the Bronzeville era, and
  • African Americans in the military

as part of the 2011 Pasadena Public Library One City, One Story program on Tuesday, March 22 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Pasadena City College, Creveling Lounge (Campus Center), 1570 E. Colorado Blvd.

World War II was a defining moment in our nation's history - in the mud fields of Mississippi as well as the concrete jungles of Los Angeles.

Join us as we hear first-hand from those who lived through these historic times.

This event is presented in partnership with Pasadena City College, Shatford Library.
