Come view the film “Freedom Riders” at CAAM.

2011 marks the 50th anniversary of those who were brave experimenters of their own volition, showing up on the front lines of an American civil war being waged in Mississippi and throughout the South.

In 1961, segregation seemed to have an overwhelming grip on American society.  Many states violently enforced policy, while government remained indifferent.  The youth of America became the face-to-face defenders challenging the inequities that plagued the nation.
