On behalf of the YWCA San Gabriel Valley, I am writing to invite you to consider nominating an exceptional woman to be honored at the 2010 Women of Achievement Awards Luncheon. Nomination materials can be downloaded here. Nominations are due March 1, 2010.

This year the awards luncheon will be part of a full day conference, "Life and Leadership in a Diverse and Changing World." The conference and luncheon will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Cal Poly Pomona.

It will be our 26th year presenting the annual Women of Achievement Awards Luncheon, where we honor distinguished women in our communities throughout the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys. It will be our first year offering a full day conference with the event. An overview of the conference can be downloaded here.

This event is also one of the ways the YWCA San Gabriel Valley raises funds for critical service programs that assist over 12,000 people annually. These programs include:

• Services for Domestic Violence Victims: Shelter and support services so that adults and children can be safe, healthy, and lead violence-free lives.

• Healthy Relationships Education Program for Teens so that teen dating violence can be prevented and those teens already experiencing problems can receive assistance.
