Sunday, October 9, 2011, 2 p.m. – Join the California African American Museum (CAAM) in a panel discussion exploring historical representation of people of color.
Leading the discussion will be UC Santa Barbara's Dr. Sylvester Ogbechie of the History of Art and Architecture. Ogbechie specializes in classical, modern, and contemporary African and African Diaspora arts, visual culture and knowledge systems theory.
Also leading in the discussion will be Tere Romo, program officer for arts and culture at The San Francisco Foundation. Romo has recently served as the arts project coordinator at the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center (CSRC).
