Free Family Night – Native Storytelling
Nov.01.2011 04.00PM - 08.00PM

Tuesday, November 1, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  (Museum admission is free between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m.)

Native storytelling will take you into the lifestyle of California's Native Americans, in particular members of the Acjachemen Nation which flourished in Southern California hundreds of years before Father Serra and the Spanish Missionaries came to the area.

Through stories and songs, you will learn about the local people's indigenous tools, instruments, games and clothing.

See how Native Americans continue to preserve and celebrate their culture by participating in Intertribal Pow Wows; view traditional dances, and even get the chance to participate in one, which should give you a wonderful understanding of "environmentalism" and what it means to be a "keeper of the earth."
