El Centro de Accion Social's annual fundraiser will take place on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Pasadena Westin Hotel. The reception will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by dinner and program from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The annual fundraiser enables us to raise funds to help us to continue providing vital programs serving low-income students and senior citizens in our community.
This year, we are delighted to honor Monica C. Lozano, Publisher and CEO of La Opinión newspaper. We will also be highlighting the contributions of other exceptional community leaders including Congress member Adam Schiff. We will also be honoring Carmie Rodriguez who is the current Assistant Head of School for Academic Affairs at Polytechnic School; Bob Baderian, former City of Pasadena employee, Cynthia Kurtz from the San Gabriel Valley Economic Development and former Pasadena City Manager.
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Terrence Roberts as our keynote speaker. Dr. Roberts is one of the "Little Rock Nine" who desegregated Central High School – an effort that resulted from the Supreme Court decision Brown vs. Board of Education, Topeka, Kansas. Among his many accomplishments, he received the Congressional Gold Medal in recognition of his contributions to the arena of civil rights.
We hope that you can be a sponsor or purchase a ticket to support this very important El Centro de Accion Social event. It is to raise funds for their Youth Education and Senior Citizen program.
