Under the leadership of the late Muhammad A. Nassardeen, CEO & Founder of Recycling Black
Dollars, Recycling Black Dollars (RBD) Communications is a conscious effort on the part of Black business men and women, professionals, entrepreneurs and consumers to control economic resources and create jobs, commercial exchange and community stability.
The genesis of RBD occurred in 1988.
Black Business Month was launched for the month of April by Recycling Black Dollars (RBD) with the support of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Los Angeles City Council, Inglewood City Council, California State Senate and United States Congress.
One of the key elements of "Black Business Month" was the introduction of the Black Dollar Coupon. April was chosen as "Black Business Month" as it comes on the heels of the success of the RBD "Change Bank Day" program which brought over 1400 new accounts and $7,000,000 into our local Black financial institutions (Founders National Bank, Family Savings Bank, Broadway Federal Bank and the South Central Peoples Federal Credit Union).
April was also designated as "Recycling Black Dollars Month" by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
Readers please see the advertisers in this paper to support during RBD's month.
We encourage you to Recycle Black Dollars, this Month, and All-Year Long.
